Rob Roy Austin TexasI know the Rob Roy Neighborhood and have worked here for twenty years! By coincidence, my first listing appointment back in 1989 (yes that was the last century) was for a home located in the Rob Roy Neighborhood. That home eventually  sold for $368,000 and though the sellers owed the bank more than that, they gladly paid the balance and thanked me. You have to remember that during this period Texas and other parts of the nation were going through the S&L Crisis with 1000-2000 foreclosures every month in Travis County alone! Every neighborhood was affected and we were still far from the bottom. Two years later, in 1991 the same home sold for $291,000! These days the  property would sell for around $750,000.

Original Rob Roy is bounded by Loop 360 (Capital of Texas Highway), Bee Caves Road, Lake Austin and the property occupied by St Stephens School. First developed in the early 1980′s and continuing today with many homes bought by newcomers who choose to update or remodel. Homes in the area have sold from the high $600,000′s to over $5,000,000. During the last the 12 months (Ending April 1, 2010) there have been nine (9) sales ranging from $575,000-$2,195,000. Keep in mind this is only data from MLS and does not include any private or pocket listing sales.
